Poster 331: ACL Graft Tear or Contralateral ACL Tear: Which is Worse???

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objectives: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) graft tears and contralateral ACL are both relatively common following primary reconstruction (ACLR). While some prior studies have combined these injuries as an outcome variable (“subsequent injury”), there is little work comparing the outcomes of injuries. We hypothesize that patient reported measures (PROMs) activity level lower revision ACLR than ACLR. Methods: From a prospective cohort study 2333 patients who underwent primary, unilateral ACLR, 298 were identified or within 5 years Following exclusion 11 had injuries, 256 eligible for inclusion, including 124 132 Patients contacted follow-up at 6 after PROMs collected subjective International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score, Osteoarthritis pain (KOOS-Pain) knee-related quality life (KOOS- QOL) subscales, Marx level. Patient demographic initial injury factors, surgical compared between groups. Multiple regression models used to determine whether side subsequent surgery (revision versus ACLR) was significant predictor outcome. Results: Two hundred trenty-three (87%) completed The median time from second in group (1.3 years) (2.0 years, p < 0.001). also demonstrated incidence partial lateral meniscectomy more likely received allograft There no differences age, sex, smoking status, pre- operative knee laxity, articular cartilage status medial meniscus sport, pre-operative two At follow-up, (Table 1). When controlling above 7.8 point IKDC (p<0.001), 3.2 KOOS-pain (p=0.012), 10.4 KOOS-QOL 2.0 score (p=0.002) group. Conclusions: undergo R demonstrate with poorer those [Table: see text]

Diagnostic accuracy of ACL tears according to tear morphology.

This retrospective analysis of 182 consecutive patients who underwent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction aimed to assess the clinical examination under anaesthetic and the MRI diagnostic accuracy of arthroscopically-proven, complete ACL ruptures, depending on the morphology of the torn ligament. Patients were then assigned to Group 1 (ACL not reattached) or Group 2 (ACL re-attached...

ACL Revision in Synthetic ACL graft failure

The development of synthetic grafts as an alternative to biological grafts for reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament dates from 1980. The interest is awakened due to the potential advantages of: The absence of morbidity associated with donor site, and early return to sport . However, this surgical technique has had multiple complications associated with graft: mechanical failures (sy...

The Prevalence, Zone, and Type of the Meniscus Tear in Patients with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injury; Does Delayed ACL Reconstruction Affects the Meniscal Injury?

Background: Meniscus tear is a common finding in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and may affectthe natural history of the injury and the outcomes of treatment. In the current study, the characteristics of meniscus tearsin patients who underwent arthroscopic ACL reconstruction were investigated. Methods: The hospital records of 1022 patients were reviewed. ...
